I know, this blog is a little late, but I had to reallllyyy work at these photos, because I wanted them to be as dreamy as the world in which I took them -- the Efteling!
For those of you who are not living in the Netherlands, or those of you who are but have never heard of it before, The Efteling is a Dutch theme park based on fairy tales. It is like a little paradise of all the fairy tales you can imagine coming to life. The best part about it, was that I was lucky enough to go there on a work function, and even better -- it was during the Winter Efteling, meaning that everything was themed as a Winter Wonderland. If you haven't been there before, you HAVE to go! I absolutely love my fairy tales, so I was really like a 6 year old at Christmas about to open her presents -- I was blown away! Although I spent half my time trying to figure out what all the Dutch fairytale names were in English, I had so much fun.
Before heading out there, I realised it would be sooo unlike me to go looking the part - so I decided to theme my makeup in the same way.
So I present to you.... A Winter Wonderland Inspired Look!
I kept the makeup wearable, so that people wouldn't mistaken me as one of the characters (ha ha). But this means that if any of you would like to recreate the look, you can wear it to special events (like Christmas coming up), or even just on a normal night out, or even in the day.. if you're feeling sparkly!
Using a mixture of greens, purples, blues and silvers, I created a spectrum of colours sweeping across the lid. I didn't use any eyeliner on the lid, and only a soft brown pencil on the lower water line to keep it nice and frosty-looking. This also makes the look a little less dramatic, so please feel free to add in some eyeliner of your choice to give it that extra pazaaaazz! Just use some soft bronzing to give your face more definition, a coral-coloured blush (I used a cream blush here to make it a little more glowy), and a gentle nude, or light pink, lipgloss to give it some shine. And you're done!
The products I used to create this look are listed below, and if you'd like to purchase any of them, scroll down to the bottom and follow the links :) They'll take you right to the place to snatch them up!
I would love to see your creations, so don't forget to send them to me or tag me in any photos you post up!
Good luck sweethearts, and remember
